Overview

As students progress along their continuum of learning, late elementary offers an exciting and critical time for students to enrich their lives by learning comprehensive health education and more in-depth, skills-based practices leading to a lifetime of positive health outcomes and continued academic success. The CA Health Education Content Standards and Framework provide a foundation for this success. Teachers, school nurses, school counselors, administrators, curriculum specialists, and district personnel are in a unique and important position to mentor and guide students in adopting skills, practices, and positive health behaviors that will lead to healthy outcomes and communities now and for years to come.
